How does it work?
When we breathe consciously it massages the solar plexus, slows down the adrenals, releases endorphins, increases circulation, and brings oxygen to every single cell of the body.
Breathing exercises
Get comfy - standing, sitting or lying down
Close your eyes
Feet slightly apart Shoulders relaxed
Arms loose by your sides
Breathe in through the nose gently - count 4 or 5
Expand the belly as you fill it with oxygen
Breathe out through the nose gently - count 5 or 6
Pull the belly back as you exhale.
Repeat 5 to 10 times.
Release and let go of any tension from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Do 1st thing every morning and last thing every night.
Do this exercise any time when you start to feel:
Stressed
Overwhelmed
Anxious
Low or Depressed
Upset or sad
Pain
When you need more:
Focus
Clarity
Energy
Creativity
Confidence

Stop - Step Back - Breathe
Physically stop and take a step backwards
Breathe - nice big deep gentle breath in through the nose, and out through the nose,
Avoid watching, reading or listening to the news.
Put your phone down! You don’t have to respond to messages or phone calls immediately
Create space for yourself, don’t try to do too much at once
Have boundaries and learn to say no
Ask for help, you don’t have to do everything yourself
Learn to say yes to offers of help and assistance
Focus on the things you can change not on the things you can’t
Surround yourself with happy positive people
Say good bye or spend less time with negative people
Make time for yourself
Create a happy place you can visualise and whenever you feel stressed take yourself there.
Write a list of your favourite feel good music and listen to it when you are on the go or at home.
Listen to relaxing music, before bed or in bed - You Tube is a great source for relaxing, healing, and meditation music.
Listen to a guided meditation before going to sleep
Watch funny movies or shows
Create a daily gratitude list of 5 things you are grateful for
Have a bath once a week with Epsom or Sea Salts
Take a walk in nature
Notice nature around you everyday, the trees, the sky, flowers
Have a relaxing treatment once a month such as massage/healing/reflexology
Do something you love once a day
Exercise, even if its just a 20 minute walk 3 times a week.
Join a Yoga or dance Class
Create a Happy Jar, write something daily and pop it in the jar, that you are happy about, open and read at the end of each month.
Create a happy place you can visualise and whenever you feel stressed take yourself there.
Write a list of your favourite feel good music and listen to it when you are on the go or at home.
